Record suspensions (formerly known as pardons) can be obtained for most offences. A notable exception are the offences listed in Schedule 1 of the Criminal Records Act, which are mostly sexual offences. However, even if you have been convicted of one or more of these offences, there are some exceptions where you can still apply. To receive a record suspension, you must convince the Parole Board of Canada that you have been of good conduct for the required period of time and that a record suspension would provide you with a measurable benefit and would sustain your rehabilitation in society as a law-abiding citizen and would not bring the administration of justice into disrepute.

Borys Law has experience helping clients prepare compelling record suspension applications for all manner of offences.
